Association Members are required to provide proof of health clearances achieved on all their breeding dogs and that have agreed to a Code of Ethics regarding their breeding practices and the care of their dogs

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes! We test our breeding dogs for genetic diseases and conditions that can be passed along to their puppies. Puppies must be brought to a licensed veterinarian within three business days of your receipt of the puppy to continue its vaccination schedule and to confirm the overall health of the puppy.

We offer a health guarantee against expressed (phenotypic) eye and hip (dysplasia) genetic defects as well as for Von Willebrand Disease. Our 2-year health guarantee holds for all puppies that are neutered or spayed by the age of 9 months old; the guarantee is void for puppies not neutered or spayed by 9 months of age, unless sold with a written contract as breeding stock. We encourage our families to insure their dogs and to support this we extend our health guarantee for an additional year to three full years for puppies that have had continual veterinary health insurance.

These orthopedic screenings look for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, epiphyseal dysplasia, multiple epiphyseal dysplasia, fragmented coronoid process, hypertrophic osteodystrophy, muscular dystrophy, osteogenesis imperfecta, shoulder dysplasia, and patellar luxation.

FULL HEALTH TRANSPARENCY

We believe in FULL health transparency. You may view our dogs' genetic tests at any time at this link  and we are happy to share results of other testing on request. If you have any questions about the testing we do, please contact us or consult your veterinarian. We would be happy to discuss health testing or any other questions you may have.

If your puppy is found by a licensed veterinarian to have a genetic eye or hip defect within the guarantee period, we will replace the puppy with one of the same color and size, if available. In either case, we will NEVER ask you to return your puppy to us. The health guarantee is null and void if the condition is caused by an injury or accident, or if the puppy has been neglected, malnourished, obese, or subjected to inappropriate living conditions or inappropriate activity management. The health guarantee is also null and void if puppies/dogs are not given regular heartworm preventative medication. If your puppy dies and you suspect a genetic problem, you must have an necropsy (animal autopsy) performed by a licensed veterinarian and have the results sent to us.

Disclaimer: We recommend certain select products that we have used ourselves on this site and think are good enough to share. Some of those products have affiliate links, where we get a very small commission for referral. Those commissions help support the time we spend in testing, reviewing, and sharing our experiences with those products. Most of the products we recommend are manufactured in the USA by small family companies. These small American companies can't compete with the big dollar marketing campaigns of the large multinational conglomerates that control most of the pet supply business. We hope you will choose to support small family companies like ours and many of the manufacturers we recommend, instead of large multinational conglomerates that are known for food and product recalls as well as off-shore sourcing and manufacturing. For more information about why we prefer products from direct sellers whenever possible, please click here. WE ARE NOT PAID FOR FAVORABLE PRODUCT REVIEWS and our opinions are our own.
