PUPPIES ARE BABIES AND NO MATTER HOW WELL-RAISED SHOULD BE EXPECTED TO CRY, BARK, AND HAVE ACCIDENTS, OFTEN AT VERY INCONVENIENT TIMES AND PLACES.

IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR THIS, PLEASE DO NOT GET A PUPPY FROM ANYBODY.

Our puppies are only available with foundational puppy pre-school training

Our decades of breeding and training experience have shown us that puppies are much more successful in their new families if they have basic manners and obedience training, therefore all of our puppies have at least foundational puppy pre-school training—we do not raise or sell untrained puppies and our price reflects that.

We are not the breeder for you if you want a low-cost puppy as 99% of the time, those lower costs mean that your puppy wasn't raised with active enrichment and foundation training and wasn't, in our opinion, prepared as well as possible for your home.

Click here to see a video of the training our puppies typically have when they go home at 9 weeks old.

Additional training may be available at an additional fee and may include advanced puppy training or specialty training for puppies going to homes with special needs. Advanced puppy training includes proofing and fine tuning of foundational puppy training, down, place training, advanced manners, and additional experience working under distractions and socialization. Additional training is subject to availability.

Special needs training is done on a case-by-case basis. Examples can be special preparatory protocols for puppies that may be candidates for autism companion service, hearing dog service, assistance service, autism spectrum companion service, and more. While we do our best to prepare puppies for service work and while preparation while young increases the likelihood of success for a service dog, nobody can guarantee that ANY puppy will be a successful service dog for any reason until the dog has fully matured and training is complete.

Please click here for more information on training options.

Training limitations

Please note that despite the amount of work we do with our puppies, they are still BABIES and need consistency and reinforcement at home to maintain their training. Not all families have the experience to maintain training, and it should be expected for some families to need to consult an outside professional to help the families learn to work with their puppies.

Our training teaches to the puppies to obey us. If a family is not experienced in dog handling, no training we provide will be able to train the dog to obey an inexperienced handler.

Puppies are babies and regardless of training SHOULD be expected to cry, bark, and have accidents in their crates and in your house. If you are not expecting this and prepared for this, please do not get a puppy from anyone, even one that has had training.

Cost and payment

Full cost is $3,500* for 2019/2020 medium (35-50 lbs) and $4,200* for petite/mini (under 25 lbs) breedings, which includes puppy foundational training (sit, walk on leash, beginning manners, crate training, etc.), socialization, health guarantee, Puppy Culture and Avidog program training, and more.

We don't often breed standard sized dogs, but when we do they are $3,200. However, we do not keep a waiting list for standards since we breed the so infrequently.

*(NOTE: Many breeders say they use Puppy Culture but really don't follow or even do the program at all. To ensure your breeder is actually raising Puppy Culture puppies, always request videos of the puppies and or/process as proof. Our videos can be found here.)

Payment

Payment by checks and cash are accepted and are expected prior to picking out a puppy. Payment is subject to sales tax for Florida residents.

As a small family breeder, we are unable to provide financing. However, we do offer a credit card option, which is available for the 3% fee charged for the service by the bank.

A non-refundable deposit of $350 (applicable to price) is required to reserve a puppy. State sales tax applicable to Florida residents/in-state sales on puppies and other items purchased. Board-and-train charges will apply to puppies not picked up by their go-home date.

*Petite/Mini breedings are more costly and produce fewer puppies, so they are priced accordingly. While we make our best efforts to estimate size at adulthood, sizes are estimates and neither size nor color are guaranteed.

All puppies go home with the following:

  • Completion of our puppy development and enrichment program

  • Basic puppy training started (clicker/positive reinforcement training)—Puppies go home knowing how to sit and walk on a leash. They will have started learning manners, such as to sit to come out of their playpen, not to jump on people for attention, and to sit quietly in front of you when they want attention or treats, and have started crate training. Click here for a sample video of what a typical puppy knows when it goes home.

  • Raised in our home, not a breeding kennel.

  • Health guarantee*

  • SuperPuppy neurological imprinting (also known as Biosensor or Early Neurological Stimulation) as well as traditional handling imprinting

  • In-home socialization with other dogs, children, cats, horses, donkeys, and more

  • Jane Killion's Puppy Culture Enrichment Program, shown to increase the size of a puppy's brain, increase their resilience to stress, and enhance their emotional stability. (NOTE: Many breeders say they use Puppy Culture but really don't follow or even do the program at all. To ensure your breeder is actually raising Puppy Culture puppies, always request videos of the puppies and or/process as proof. Our videos can be found here.)

Disclaimer: We recommend certain select products that we have used ourselves on this site and think are good enough to share. Some of those products have affiliate links, where we get a very small commission for referral. Those commissions help support the time we spend in testing, reviewing, and sharing our experiences with those products. Most of the products we recommend are manufactured in the USA by small family companies. These small American companies can't compete with the big dollar marketing campaigns of the large multinational conglomerates that control most of the pet supply business. We hope you will choose to support small family companies like ours and many of the manufacturers we recommend, instead of large multinational conglomerates that are known for food and product recalls as well as off-shore sourcing and manufacturing.
